Idea Fair
The Carmel Communication Plan
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
The Communication Plan was developed by Carmel’s department heads to ensure communication topics from every club segment were shared with the membership and staff at ideal times throughout the year. The plan showcases all utilized mediums including electronic and print publications. Department heads are accountable for remaining on task and completing deadlines. The plan utilizes a working excel document that allows for edits and/or additions to be made as needed.
Results thus far have been considerable. Department heads have increased touchpoints by 20% and are expanding their scope to include new and tending topics.
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
During Q4, department heads are tasked with identifying topics and creating a schedule for their individual areas. Once submitted, the Communications Director reviews the timeline as well as proposed topics and channels for discrepancies and/or redundant items. Following any adjustments, the Plan is shared as a working document. Status reports and deadlines are periodically reviewed. Department heads are responsible for ensuring adherence to the Plan.
This is a helpful tool to see what needs to be communicated and when. It is easy to follow and helps us to properly communicate pertinent topics.
