The Giving Tree

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

The Country Club of Darien hosted its 2nd annual toy drive to benefit children through David’s Treasure Chest via the Stamford Hospital Foundation. The tree was adorned with wishes from children in need.

Members and staff were invited to select a wish, purchase the corresponding gift, and return it unwrapped in the donation bin or place it under the tree. Thanks to the generosity of all, the gifts were delivered before Christmas, bringing joy to children on Christmas morning. Every contribution, no matter how small, made a meaningful impact.

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

"It's better to give than receive" really came to life with the Giving Tree. Members and staff loved the idea, as it wasn’t just a Christmas tree—it represented a chance to make someone else happy. The idea of giving back in such a personal and impactful way was what made the Giving Tree so special.
