Idea Fair
The Jordan Project
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
Doylestown CC Head Golf Professional Patrick Shine wanted to show that lessons are more than just hitting golf balls on the range. He wanted to display the DCC Golf staff's long-term investment in improving members and giving tangible results. Additionally, he wanted to increase bookings of private lessons and draw out some of the golfers who may hesitate to take lessons because of their playing skills (or lack thereof).
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
DCC Head Pro Patrick Shine partnered with DCC's Director of Membership & Communications, Jordan Meserole, an average golfer who had never broken 100. Jordan had never taken professional lessons before the series. Patrick and Jordan filmed their lessons, editing them into a 3-to-5-minute video. The videos were emailed to all members as a YouTube link and also posted on social accounts. As a result, interest in lessons and overall bookings increased by 20% after the debut of the series. Additionally, a golf fitness program that was introduced in one of the episodes sold out in less than 18 hours after being featured in the video. And the first club fitting sold out in 36 hours after being featured in the series. Overall, members have reacted positively to the series and often ask Patrick or Jordan how the golf game is improving. The series will continue through 2024 and conclude late summer of 2024. To date, the videos have been viewed 2,100 times and have a 71% watch-to-end rate.
