To Tell the Truth Wine Dinner

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

Interactive blind tasting wine dinner where three presenters (pre designated attendees) will read from a script describing three different wines of the same varietal. The attendees of the dinner need to determine which presenter is “telling the truth”. The event of a tie, name are put in a fishbowl and a winner is selected. The process is repeated throughout the dinner and at the end a To Tell the Truth champion is announced.

This event gives the Chef and culinary team the opportunity to showcase their talents through the pairing of the food with the wine. While the cost for this event may be higher than other wine events, the revenue and member experience makes it all worthwhile.

How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?

This event was implemented through a collaborative effort with our food and beverage team and one of our wine vendors. We use the same wine vendor and same presenters each year so we have consistency. This is one of our most popular wine events with almost 90 people in attendance. The members look forward to this annual event and always leave wanting more.
