Idea Fair
Train by Training
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
CCV opened a new fitness center this fall which doubled our square footage. This expansion allowed us to purchased new fitness equipment with a greater variety of styles. The challenge this presented was making sure that members had a positive learning experience with the new equipment. To prepare for that, staff in every role (from front desk to personal trainers) were invited to personally use the new exercise equipment in the facility before the grand opening to gain knowledge and experience. This helped empower all staff to be able to offer a better experience to the members and it added a level of excitement and enthusiasm for the staff to share their knowledge. We all know that a knowledgeable staff can bring a unique energy to a place. Very similar to walking into an Apple Store where you know you are either going to leave with a product, an answer to a problem, or just a feeling of awe. From this method of training, the members are able to ask any and all fitness staff questions including how to use a piece of cardio/strength equipment, get recommendation of exercises, or just a quick tour of the facility. This made every member's visit to our Fitness Center much more enjoyable and efficient.
