Idea Fair
Transportation and Food Delivery
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
The Charlotte Country Club Transportation Department was created to provide exemplary and unparalleled service to our members. With our Sprinter van, members and their guests can ride to and from the club in discreet comfort and style.
When COVID hit in 2020, our transportation department came up with the idea to begin delivering meals to our senior members. These deliveries are made to senior living communities as well as to senior members living in their own homes. The implementation of this food delivery program has allowed The Charlotte Country Club to provide the food and beverage experience that members expect when visiting the club, but safely at their doorstep!
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
The Charlotte Country Club started the delivery service for senior members of the club in July 2020 in response to COVID. Since these members were essentially quarantined in their residential buildings or their houses, the managers thought it would be a great idea to offer to bring the taste of the club to those who couldn’t come to CCC.
How it works: Members contact our transportation coordinator Dave Johnson to make their orders, then he inputs and sends those orders to the kitchen at 3 pm. Then Dave picks up and delivers the meals between 5:30 and 7 pm.
Since we started offering to deliver meals for no extra charge to honor our seniors, these members have loved it. It not only provides an easy way for them to receive ordered meals, but it also helps them to feel connected to CCC even when they cannot or may not want to visit the club in person. It helps to maintain a relationship with them, and it makes them feel cared for.
Since the inception of this service, we have averaged $400 per week in to-go meals for these members.
