Idea Fair
Travel Adventures Program: Trips Go International!
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
Fiddler’s offers group trips for our members as part of our TAP (Travel Adventures Program). For the first time in 2022 we took a group outside of the United States, to Italy. The purpose is to offer new and exciting ways for our members and staff to bond, as each trip includes several staff people. It helps with member retention and certainly offers a “WOW” to our members consistent with our overall mission. And this not any old trip. The goal was to offer experiences that members could enjoy with each other that they typically could not arrange on their own. All details were planned by our Fiddler’s team.
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
On October 13, 2022 members arrived at Relais San Maurizio, a unique and enchanting 17th century monastery in Cuneo, Italy, with their hosts Fiddler’s Events Manager Brittney Delcore and Marco Nicoletti, our Elbow Room Manager and Sommelier. (Marco is a native Italian!)
The nine day trip was filled with once-in-a-lifetime experiences, excursions, sightseeing, shopping, Michelin Star dining and well, more dining! In all they ate at five Michelin Star restaurants! Some highlights included a stop at the world-renowned Alba Truffle Fair, where they purchased a 126 gram Triple A truffle, followed by a special dinner with Chef’s Hand Selected Truffles. A cooking class with Italian television celebrity Chef Diego. And of course, there were four exclusive wine tastings. The group got to meet Angelo Gaja himself at one of the greatest estates in the world, and enjoyed a private tasting with his son Giovanni.
A few pounds were added and few pounds were lost from sightseeing and walking tours. All in all, the first ever Fiddler’s International TAP trip was a huge success. Most importantly lifelong memories and friendships were cemented with more to come.
