Tree Lighting

How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?

In 2018, we had our first ever tree lighting at Champions Run. This event created magical memories for our members because of the camaraderie, hot cocoa bar, reindeer visits, and of course the lighting of our trees in front of our building. This event has evolved since then! This year, the event was hosted on our pool deck. Additionally, we were able to work with Santa’s Woods in Blair, NE to offer premier Christmas trees for our members to purchase. We placed these trees in our drained swimming pool to create a “tree farm” feel. We invited our members to countdown from 10 and we lit up our splash park — which could be seen from outer space! This night was characterized by live music, Christmas cocktails, games, hot cocoa, desserts, a visit from Santa, and Christmas trees to take home!

How was this idea implemented and what have been the club members' reactions?

Once again, our staff did a fantastic job working together to produce an amazing event for our membership. Working on booking things in advance is the key to making these events flow smoothly. Our events director did a great job finding a Santa to attend our gathering, reserving reindeer, photo back-drops and more. This was a fun outdoor event that our members loved because of the Christmas feeling that doesn’t normally accompany a swimming pool :)
