Idea Fair
Trick-or-Treat Night
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
This is an idea is one of my favorites because it is so safe. All ages were invited to come out and go on a club-wide trick-or-treat tour. We had 12 candy stations set up inside the club, all candy was bought and distributed by the Youth Activities Manager. Stations went all the way up to the top of the house where our business office and CEO reside. We held small games at some stations where the kids would have to figure out a riddle in order to get candy so it was very interactive. After trick-or-treating, we held a costume contest for best all-around, scariest, and most creative, followed by a classic Halloween movie.
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
The idea was implemented in the month of October. We promoted this Youth Event to the membership through an eblast and newsletter that goes out to the entire membership. Parents were immediately interested in the program and began to ask more questions about how to make sure their kid was signed up.
The parent’s overall reaction to the Trick-or-Treat Night was refreshing honestly. They were so happy that they could relax and enjoy some great drinks and food as they watched their little ones pass through the stations where they were sitting. We will now be implementing this annually for Halloween.
