Idea Fair
Trunk or Treat
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
What does Harry Potter, Lamborghini and Halloween candy all have in common? All three were present at Congressional’s Inaugural Trunk or Treat and Congo Kid’s HalloweenFest! On Saturday October 30th of last year, our lower parking lot was transformed into a magical Halloween trick-or-tricking fair ground with our Congressional Car Club‘s finest vehicles dishing out sweet treats and making fond memories! The Car Club came through with over 30 vehicles to showcase. From 10 AM until 2 PM Congressional families trick-or-treated along the rows of car collections from our members, then moved on towards our Great Lawn where they could experience pumpkin decorating, face painting and more! The afternoon was completed with several food and beverage concepts to satisfy the lunch appetite, for kids and parents!
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
This past year was a challenging transition for everyone. Our families were used to having a large Halloween event inside of the Club, and our Car Club looked forward to a fall event as well outdoors. As the season evolved, the team realized they could combine two fabulous groups of the membership at the Club and have both present at the same time. Families were presented with a Club map to navigate trick-or-treating, food and beverage, and entertainment locations around the property. The team received such positive feedback the combination of both events seems to be a tradition to come in the future.
