Idea Fair
Ultimate Tailgate III
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
When your club is located in the heart of Southeastern Conference country, tailgating is a top priority. While everything is bigger in Texas, it’s always better at Miramont. Such is the case with Miramont’s Ultimate Tailgate the night before Texas A&M’s biggest home game of the season. Miramont’s front lawn is transformed into a magnificently maroon-themed front porch party with all the special touches, delectable dishes and impeccable service standards that members have come to expect from Miramont. A headliner band has played each of the first three years we’ve hosted the tailgate, which also features numerous food stations and full-service bars. The tailgate is a big hit that grows each year.
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
Miramont’s inaugural Ultimate Tailgate in 2015 attracted nearly 300 members and invited guests, as we advertised the event through emails and hoped for good weather and a great turnout. Mission accomplished in the first year. We upped the ante in 2016, as more than 350 members and guests attended the event. In 2017, we surpassed 430 people in attendance! Our members look forward to this event each year, and the word-of-mouth advertising has been a major success, as we continue building on our signature event of the fall. One member brought approximately 15 guests in 2017, which certainly helps in recruiting new members.
