Idea Fair
Unique Club Events that Repeat Monthly
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
To add value to our diverse membership, we wanted to offer unique opportunities for members to meet other members. We decided to start a monthly rotation of repeating events. 1st Friday of every month we offer a speakeasy night in our wine cellar. Every 1st Friday we market for a different group, baby boomers, millennials, singles, couples, ladies only etc. The 2nd Wednesday of the month, we offer a Seafood and Rose tasting on our outdoor patio. Members can casually sample different Rose Wines while tasting seafood appetizers/small plates. The 3rd Thursday of the month, we offer a Cigar Night. It is an educational event where members learn about the cigar they're smoking from the cigar maker or representative. The monthly cigar nights included La Aurora, Montecristo, Ashton, Camacho and many more. On the 4th Friday of the month, we host our monthly wine dinners. Each wine dinner is educational and our culinary team work diligently each month to pair unique and appropriate flavors with each wine or wine region.
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
Starting our rotation of monthly club events has given members the opportunities to make new friends at the club. The social value in being a member at Fiddler's Elbow has increased because of these repeating monthly events. Our attendance for all club events has also increased due to many members are more aware and active of upcoming events.
