"Unplugged Events" - Cookies & Canvases

Description

Kids now a days are always using a form of technology. The Club wanted to offer an event for the kids to be creative and socialize with one another while putting their cell phones away. Because this event works well in all seasons, we were able to offer it several times throughout the year.

Implementation

Putting paint brushes in their hands and keeping cell phones away was our goal at this event. The kids had a template to follow along with the help of an art instructor leading the class, but the class allowed the kids to put their creative skills to work on a canvas before they enjoyed decorating and eating a cookie masterpiece with friends. The parents were highly impressed with the outcome of the canvas masterpieces and were thrilled that kids were not physically able to use their cell phones during the event.
