How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
You say "TomatO" & I say "TomAto"..........baby tomato plants were offered to our members to nurture during the pandemic as we felt we were entering a "war" of sorts with COVID-19. As everyone's VICTORY GARDEN grew, photos were posted online and shared with others. The idea actually bridged generations of idle Hour members and we even had a cooking class tomato salad session to enjoy the fruits of our efforts!
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
Our event coordinator thought of the idea and wrote about the history of Victory Gardens in our newsletter. We plan to start an herb garden group this coming growing season which can happen both at home as well as on club property for Chef to enjoy!
