Idea Fair
Water Wars
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
OMC: Organized Mass Chaos. These words describe our first annual Water Wars at Champions Run.
When you combine over 5,000 water balloons, 250 water guns, 6 inflatables, and 200 kids, you get an epic event that will be cherished in the minds of so many for years to come. Participants were asked to arrive with a water gun or two and were put onto teams. People eagerly lined up on our tennis courts, and with water guns loaded and balloons in hand, the countdown began. Teams fire away and soon enough, there is a water war happening. This event is unlike anything our members have ever seen. Even our general manager was a part of the fun, which demonstrates our club’s commitment to fun.
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
This event almost instantly sold out. When our members saw a new event marketed that included cooling down and having unique fun on a humid Saturday, they were committed. Our incredible summer staff members prepared days in advance by purchasing and filling water balloons, finding water guns, and inflating several blow ups. During the event, our team worked together to ensure there were enough water balloons to go around and that each kid felt apart of the action. Parents simply watched in awe of this once in a lifetime event that happened before their eyes.
