Idea Fair
Weekly eNewsletter
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
The weekly eNewsletter provides a one-stop-shop of information from all departments around the Club combining informational and club lifestyle messaging. With this single communication sent every Monday, Members are no longer receiving multiple emails & notifications during the week about social events, golf news, etc. Since introducing the weekly EVCC eNewsletter with written and visual content, we have maintained a year-round open rate above 50% (72.65% average unique open rate in 2023). Member engagement has increased due to consistent communication and it has proven to keep Members informed and connected to their Club. Going paperless and moving to a digital platform allows Members quick, easy access to information. With almost all operations (dining reservations, event sign-ups, tee times, etc.) being online, direct links to these pages have become more easily accessible.
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
In an effort to make Club information as accessible as possible for Members, we transitioned to a weekly eNewsletter that is emailed to Members on Monday mornings. This ensures Members have all the information to use their Club and its amenities to the fullest. Transitioning from printed to digital has proven to be successful in that member engagement and retention are higher. Events are more attended than they have been in years and staff members are hearing less commentary related to “well, I didn’t know”. In turn, Members are commenting on knowing more about what’s happening on the golf courses from reading the Superintendent’s Blog and sharing laughs with the General Manager about the joke he made in the latest Connect with Kyle.
