Idea Fair
Wellness and Recovery Suite
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
The overarching goal of the DAC Athletics Department—and “athletics,” after all, is our middle name—is to provide cutting-edge services and innovative facilities to accommodate our ever-diversifying membership. Toward that end, in November the DAC opened its Wellness and Recovery Suite. One of the most important trends in the sports and fitness industry is understanding the importance of rest, recovery and rehabilitation—and the consequences of not understanding. This realization has enhanced the Club’s operation by adding a variety of services that allow members to recover from or enhance the quality of their training and performance.
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
As we assessed our member needs coming out of the pandemic, we thought it important to add a variety of services and practitioners who would give our members a positive experience as they returned from some inactivity. After working with member committees and colleagues, we recommended and then implemented the Wellness and Recovery Suite. The overall club reaction has been extremely positive. We now are in the midst of providing more space and looking at additional equipment to enhance member wellness and recovery, whether it be from working out, playing sports or just the stresses of life as it stands today.
