Idea Fair
Wheelie Nice
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
Moving tractor implements requires an operator, a tractor, and a helper. With “wheelie nice” all you need is one person. “Wheelie nice” is self-named, created out of necessity, and made from a piece of plywood attached to a frame of 4 x 4s with a set of wheels lag bolted to the bottom.
This “cart” allows us to place a tractor implement on it which can be moved around when necessary. The plywood and 4 x 4s were left over from another project, and the wheels were taken off of a discarded production kitchen appliance.
“Wheelie nice” solved the problem of having to hook and unhook tractor implements that were in the way. Implements can now be moved in less time, with less effort, and with less people. When you are limited on space and have to constantly move items to make room for others, “wheelie nice” is great to have.
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
This tool is used behind the scenes and helps save labor which can be redirected to other areas of the golf course. Redirecting labor enhances the golf courses for our membership because additional detail work can be accomplished.
