Idea Fair
Wild Child Summer Camp
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
Wild Child Camp emerged as a vibrant addition to our summer offerings, specifically designed to captivate the often hard-to-engage tween demographic of 9-13 year olds. Quickly becoming a member favorite, this camp offered participants an exhilarating journey through the Fundamental 5 of wilderness survival: shelter, fire, water, food, navigation, and signaling. Throughout the camp, attendees were not only spectators but active participants, gaining hands-on experience in each survival skill. The curriculum was enriched with a mix of fun games and team building exercises, ensuring that learning was both effective and enjoyable.
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
The Wild Child Camp proved to be immensely popular this summer, quickly reaching our maximum capacity of 24 participants. Given its success, we are excited to announce that the camp will not only return in 2024 but will also be accompanied by a new, related camp. This additional offering will focus on outdoor adventures and fishing, expanding our summer programming to further embrace the natural world.
