Idea Fair
Hollywood's 1920's Prohibition Women's Member Guest
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
The Women's Member guest was a great success this year and a big part of that was the 1920's style theme throughout. We had great contribution from our women's golf board and the women who participated really bought into them and went all out. Each team was dressed up in different costumes and worked hard throughout the year to make it as fun as possible.
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
Our F&B team did a wonderful job of setting up a speakeasy and creating a retro drink menu to add the allure of the theme. The Speakeasy was retrofit with fine China that was found in the basement of our classic club. This was China used in the past. We also were able to find some classic liquor bottles to help outfit the bar that was set up on an old school piece of furniture that is otherwise used as a table. The F&B team worked hard to give the illusion of a speakeasy, and they did such a good job that members who regularly use the card room did not even recognize where they were in the clubhouse. This was a huge success for our club and proved that we can do themed golf events moving forward.
