Idea Fair
Youth Orientation
Winner
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
Our our youth operations have continued to grow since the Pandemic, and many of our children reaching their teens, we recognized that we needed to both educate our "junior" members, as well as foster their buy in at the Club. Holding the Youth Orientation allows us to establish relationships with our teen members, clearly outline Club standards and give them an opportunity to utilize the Club at their discretion. The program’s benefits include increased junior engagement, effective rule reinforcement, improved communication, and a system for behavior accountability. By combining education with privileges, the Youth Orientation Program builds a foundation for a more engaged, responsible junior membership, ensuring they feel valued while respecting the club’s standards.
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
Our Clubhouse team, as long as representatives from each of our amenity departments worked together to outline a "Junior House Rules" document. We work from this document during the orientation session; the intent is for it to feel like a New Member Orientation. Members are very excited about this program and are hopeful that it will encourage more engagement amongst their children in the 12-16 age range.
