Idea Fair
Zombie Blaster
How has this idea enhanced your club's operation, etc.?
Our Halloween party is one of the biggest kid’s events of the year, and we really wanted to add more unique attractions to enhance the party. After some deliberating, we decided to try Zombie Blaster and Fear Factor – low cost attractions that still boast a lot fun. Sticking their hands into boxes with slime and goo and insects, was great fun – especially when the reward was lots of candy! However, the highlight of the night was Zombie Blaster. Staff dressed up as zombies, with the objective for kids to shoot them with nerf guns. There was a point system and the kids with the highest scores at the end of the night won prizes!
How was this idea implemented, and what have been the club members' reactions?
We implemented this idea first by building our own fear factor games, which kids had to compete in a series of, to earn candy. Then, for Zombie Blaster, we used netting, fake plants and trees that we already have at the club, as well as other miscellaneous items. Besides the nerf guns and a few small decorations it was a very low budget game, but the kids absolutely loved it! The parents thought it was absolutely fantastic!
