Education & Certification

CMAA offers growth and development opportunities to you no matter what your career goals are. CMAA's curriculum is based on competency areas covering every aspect of a club management professional’s job and responsibilities. These professional competencies represent the skills and knowledge that are highly valued and required for success in the club management career path.

It is important that you take time to learn about all the different types of credits that CMAA offers and how they can be earned. It is also important to note that while CMAA encourages you to take advantage of all learning opportunities, there is no minimum education requirement needed to maintain your membership. Credits can be earned through CMAA at both the National and Chapter level. In addition to in-person learning opportunities, you can learn and earn credits virtually through CMAA University and CMAA’s webinars.

The Business Management Institutes (BMI) provide a formal academic program for club industry professionals. Held at clubs and university campuses across the country, the BMIs provide tangible career benchmarks by which professionals can track their progress and strive for various levels of competency, including earning the respected Certified Club Manager (CCM) designation. Learn more about the CCM eligibility requirements. Please reach out to our Education Department for any questions on the certification pathway and they will be happy to assist.

CMAA’s educational offerings are robust and ever evolving. We are here to help you succeed and grow as a club management professional, so please reach out so we can assist you.
