CMAA hosts many events and professional opportunities throughout the year. From Business Management Institutes (BMI) to CMAA’s World Conference & Club Business Expo, there is something for everyone. Here’s a rundown of CMAA’s annual offerings:
The Business Management Institutes (BMI) provide a formal academic program for club industry professionals. Held at clubs and university campuses across the country, the BMIs provide tangible career benchmarks by which professionals can track their progress and strive for various levels of competency, including earning the respected Certified Club Manager (CCM) designation. Learn more about the CCM eligibility requirements. The BMIs fill up quickly, often booking six months in advance, so take a look at the upcoming programs and see if any fit into your schedule.
World Conference & Club Business Expo is the largest annual gathering of industry professionals, held during the first quarter of the year in major US cities. Attendees engage in a variety of educational and networking opportunities, including more than 65 education programs tailored to the 11 core competencies needed for success in the club industry; the two-day Club Business Expo featuring innovative products and services; and the annual Idea Fair showcasing hundreds of club-tested ideas. The next World Conference will be held in Tampa, FL, February 5-9, 2025.
Leadership/Legislative Conference (LLC) is designed to emphasize leadership, legal, and strategic thinking for aspiring, current, and past CMAA leaders including Chapter officers/chairmen/managing directors, and National Committee members. Attendees gain important information to help successfully execute chapter management and leadership responsibilities.
Offered in the fall, the Mid-Management Conference provides quality educational and networking opportunities curated for club management professionals focusing on competency areas that help mid-level club professionals develop new skills, broad horizons, and advance career and certification goals.
CMAA’s Symposiums and Summits are one- to three-day programs that focus on a singular competency area. These events are designed for one or more club team member(s) and provide an in-depth professional development experience. Symposium offerings include the Club Leadership & Governance Symposium focusing on Board education and the Capital Improvements Symposium, outlining renovation success from the start of a project to the finish. Summits are associated with CMAA’s Communities and are offered annually on Club Wellness, Chefs, and Communications, with more to come.
In addition to National programming, CMAA’s vibrant Chapter network offers annual educational and social opportunities.
