Alexandria, VA—The Club Management Association of America (CMAA) has launched a Verified Internship Program to elevate and streamline club internship offerings. Because clubs differ widely in their membership size, culture, and offerings, it may be difficult for prospective interns to know exactly what they can expect from their internship experience. This verified internship criteria helps manage the expectations of students, faculty, and managers, and holistically showcases what a career in the club industry can look like.

Students are a vital member segment for CMAA. More than 38 student chapters and colonies exist at colleges and universities across the country. Through involvement with CMAA, these students are taking steps to further their professional and career development through meetings, events, practical experiences, internships, education, and conferences.

Over the past several years, CMAA has worked to expand its engagement, investment, and outreach with current and potential student members, helping to drive more talent into the club management industry. Students today have many choices in the hospitality landscape and may not even be aware of the wealth of outstanding career opportunities available in the club industry.

For a club to qualify for designation as a CMAA Verified Internship Program, it must meet the specified five criteria and must submit for review annually to CMAA. Review the criteria and learn more on our Verified Internship Program page.
