For Students: Preview the World Conference Experience

There are several student-focused events and opportunities at World Conference. Preview what is available and build your schedule before you head to Tampa, FL!

Concurrent Student Education Sessions: CMAA invites Student Members to participate in student education sessions presented for the duration of Conference. This year, we’re excited to share that there are concurrent education sessions on Thursday, February 6, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. The choice of two sessions allows students to select the session that best aligns with one’s current needs and career development.

Choose from two options:

  • Career Paths in Clubs Panel Discussion presented by Melissa Warner, CCM, is ideal for students who are not familiar with the club industry and seeking to explore what the career path has to offer.
  • Win the Right Way: Your Runway to Finding the Right Team, the Right Culture, and the Right Role presented by Carrie Eyler, is tailored for students who are familiar with the club industry and are looking to pursue a career in club management.

Student Coaching Sessions: The on-site coaching sessions offer a chance to develop personally and professionally through expert guidance from CMAA coaches Kevin MacDonald and Shelley MacDougall.

  • Dates/Times:
    • February 6, 3:00–4:00 p.m.
    • February 7, 4:00–5:00 p.m.
  • Format: Group coaching to help improve leadership, mindset, and behaviors for achieving goals.
  • Availability: Limited spots, first-come, first-served.

Reserve your spot to gain insights, grow skills, and connect with peers!

Career Opportunities & Networking Showcase: Taking place on Friday, February 7, 1:00-3:00 p.m., this job fair and networking forum is the place where students and managers can gather to discuss employment and internship opportunities as well as network and discuss goals regarding students’ future in the club industry. Read more on The Student Experience webpage.

Mentorship Program: Are you looking to have more one-on-one time with a club management professional? If you answered yes, this program is for you! Mentors and mentees will be paired a few weeks prior to heading to Tampa to get to know one another and come up with a game plan for your time together at Conference. You can opt into this program during the registration process—simply revisit your registration to add.

Schedule Royal Cup coffee breaks, a lunch or two, a “field trip” to the Club Business Expo, or make suggestions for which education sessions to attend based on interests and learning opportunities… the possibilities are endless!
