Maintaining the CCM
All Certified Club Managers (CCMs) are required to meet the Certification Maintenance Requirement (CMR). The CMR is a five-year certification period where CCMs must earn 120 education credits. At least 60 of the 120 credits must be CMI and/or chapter education credits.
These credits can be earned in a variety of methods ranging from:
- World Conference attendance and education
- World Conference is CMAA’s biggest educational event of the year. It provides an opportunity for quality education and the ability to earn many credits in a single event.
- Attendance at Chapter education
- Chapters provide an opportunity for members to get credits and education locally.
- CMAA University. CMAA University is a great way to earn credits towards your CMR. Your CMAA membership gives you access to CMAA University courses taken at your pace and on your schedule.
- Education outside of CMAA or Chapter events.
- You can use education earned outside of CMAA to count towards your CMR. You must provide evidence of attendance and the duration of the event. The education must fall within the 11 CMAA core competencies.
These are just a few of the educational opportunities available to you. Feel free to reach out to the Education Department with questions.

Candidates
At its spring meeting, the CMAA Board of Directors approved the appointment of Janine Budzius, CCM, CCE, as your 2024 Secretary-Treasurer. The official announcement to the membership was made during the 2023 Leadership/Legislative Conference (LLC) as well as via Outlook, social media, and related press releases.
Additionally, the national Nominating Committee met in August 2023 to prepare the slate of National Director candidates. For the 2024 CMAA Election, there are three, three-year terms and one, one-year term open. The number of candidates on the slate is equal to the number of vacancies on the Board. The 2024 election results will be tabulated by the voting software for announcement at the Closing Business Session on March 8 and will also be posted on the CMAA website. Let your CMAA voice be heard—join your peers at the polls!
Enter the 2024 Idea Fair
Did you and your team come up with an idea this year that is too good not to share with your peers? If so, enter the Idea Fair! The competition and showcase of ideas will be held at the 2024 World Conference & Club Business Expo, March 4-8, in Las Vegas, NV. Since the sharing of knowledge has always been the hallmark of CMAA, the Idea Fair is a great avenue for club managers to exchange ideas.
Each CMAA member is encouraged to enter—you do not need to attend Conference to enter or win. Regardless, appropriate recognition and two Association Activity Credits will be awarded to the winner in each of the 22 categories. Association Activity Credits will also be awarded to all members who enter.
In addition to the “Most Innovative Idea Award,” there will be a “Showstopper Award” and a “Chairman’s Award” given out by the judging committee. Make sure your idea stands out from the rest to be considered for these exciting new awards!
Read more details on how to enter, as well as category information, and access the official online entry form.
