Volunteer to Introduce Speakers at World Conference
The 2022 World Conference on Club Management will feature more than sixty education sessions. Each year, the Education Department relies on the kindness of volunteers to introduce the session speakers. Please consider introducing one or more sessions. The process is simple. First, visit the Volunteer Page and look for the sessions that you are planning to attend. If you see a session that you would like to introduce, you just need to click on the “click here to reserve” link and enter your information.
You will receive a confirmation email with the session date, time, and room location listed. Once on site, just stop by the Member Services Pavilion about 15 minutes prior to the session and a member of the Education Department team will give you the introduction text. Each introduction takes about three minutes. Please feel free to contact David McCabe if you have any questions.
Thank you in advance to all who volunteer to introduce speakers.
Membership & Member Benefits
Enter the 2022 Idea Fair
Did you and your team come up with an idea this year that is too good not to share with your peers? If so, enter the Idea Fair! The competition and showcase of ideas will be held at the 2022 World Conference & Club Business Expo, February 19-23. Since the sharing of knowledge has always been the hallmark of CMAA, the Idea Fair is a great avenue for club managers to exchange ideas.
Each CMAA member is encouraged to enter – you do not need to attend Conference to enter or win. Regardless, appropriate recognition and two Association Activity Credits will be awarded to the winner in each of the 18 categories. Association Activity Credits will also be awarded to all members who enter.
New this year: you will submit your entries online and CMAA will print the board(s) for you! You will not be printing and shipping or hand carrying your entries like in past years.
In addition to the “Most Innovative Idea Award,” there will be a “Showstopper Award” and a “Chairman’s Award” given out by the judging committee. Make sure your idea stands out from the rest to be considered for these exciting new awards!
Visit the Idea Fair section of our site for more details on how to enter, as well as category information and to access the official online entry form.
We look forward to seeing your ideas in San Diego!

The Interim Management List Is Getting a Facelift
The Interim Management List (IML) iunderwent a much-needed redesign. The page debuted along with CMAA's website earlier this week. Current listees were notified in December to update their listing to remain on the list.
If you are a current member in transition or have retired and want to remain part of the CMAA Community, you may add yourself to the IML.
Interested members are encouraged to take advantage of this updated member benefit. We think you will be pleased with the result. If you have any questions, contact Karen Woodie.
Plan Your Charitable Giving in 2022
The Club Foundation wants to take a moment to ask if you would consider a recurring donation. Those who commit to giving monthly are making a lasting impact on the future on the Foundation’s mission fulfillment, by providing reliable and regular income for the work that we do on behalf of club professionals.
Here are the ways your contribution can help:
- $10/month–No donation is too small. Donate any amount to help the Foundation fulfill its mission of funding scholarships and grants for CMAA members and know that your recurring contribution will fund into the future.
- $35/month–Your $35 monthly donation is enough to fund one student’s attendance at the CMAA World Conference and Business Expo through the annual Student Chapter Grant.
- $200/month–Your $200 monthly donation for a year is enough to fund one Sally Burns Rambo Scholarship recipient for one BMI course and travel expenses or one Joe Perdue Scholarship recipient with a tuition grant.
Donate now to make a difference!
Thank you to all those who commit to recurring donations to keep us going throughout the entire year of scholarship and grant programming.
Happy New Year from all of us at The Club Foundation!
Join the ClubLove Fun Run/Walk at World Conference
This year’s ClubLove Fun Run/Walk is off to a great start with multiple people already logging more than 100 miles so far. Here are some things to be aware of:
- Registration is available when you register for this year’s conference: If you haven’t registered for the conference yet, simply add the ClubLove Fun Run to your registration. You can join the live and virtual components, just participate in the virtual portion, or just get a t-shirt if you’re too busy to log miles.
- Already registered for World Conference and want to add the Fun Run? You can ADD the Fun Run to your registration even though you’ve already registered: Log back into your registration account and click “Already Registered”. Follow the prompts and add the run to your registration.
- Not attending Conference this year? You can still participate in the virtual component of the Fun Run and join us as we log enough miles to get us from Alexandria to San Diego and back again!
- I’d like to register for the Fun Run, but how can I compete with those who have logged so many miles? The great thing about the virtual platform is that you can enter miles retroactively. So, if you use your fitness device on a regular basis or just know that you run, walk, or bike a regular number of miles each day, you can enter your information after the fact. Come join the fun, there’s still plenty of time to get on the leaderboard! You can even set up a team for your club or chapter on the virtual platform!
And don’t forget, the live portion of the event is on Tuesday morning during Conference, February 22. The event travels a gorgeous 5K stretch along the San Diego waterfront, arguably one of the most beautiful settings in California. What a great way to start your day before Tuesday’s education sessions and a fit and fun way to support The Club Foundation!
