BMI Wine & Food Experience

In the fall of 2015, the Business Management Institute (BMI) Wine and Food Experience will again return to the Pacific Northwest and will highlight the wines and wineries in and around the Portland, Oregon area.  Classes throughout the week will take place at various local clubs and wineries.  Some of the wineries that are include  are:  Ken Wright Cellars, Carlton Cellars Vineyard, Bergstrom Winery, Domaine Drouhin, Anne Amie, Argyle, Archery Summit, Long Shadow Winery and Stoller Vineyards. 
Food education throughout the week will include hands-on demonstrations from various club chefs, as well as a discussion on the fusion of French food with wines from the Pacific Northwest with Chef Philippe Boulot, the 2001 James Beard Best Chef in the Pacific Northwest award recipient. Also to be included is a demonstration on how to run a “blending class,” how to develop menus that are imaginative and regionally focused, pairing food with wines from the Pacific Northwest, bee keeping at the club, a beer tasting, and a demonstration on how different types of wine glasses affect its taste.  Several social events such as club tours and dinners are also being planned for the week.   
After successful completion of the course, CMAA members will be awarded 30 CMI education credits. more...  

Wine Webinars
Quarterly, the Wine Society hosts a wine-related webinar for all CMAA members. Two of these webinars are virtual wine tastings and the two other are on other wine education topics. Attendees are responsible for acquiring the wines on their own for participation in the virtual tasting. One CMAA Association Activity Credit will be awarded to those individuals who register and attend the entire program. more…
