Entry Details
The idea of reaching out to the local community isn't the first thought that comes to mind when you think of private clubs. Yet, by impacting our community and those around us, we gained a better understanding of what teamwork entails, and how even the smallest act can go a long way. Through this community service, our new student members were able to get to know our current members, and it allowed all of our members to get involved in service and learn how teamwork can make any operation thrive. This could even be implemented within the club industry, and how going out of your way to make someone's day can create a lasting memory, and bring a smile to someone's face.
Implementation
All of our student members signed up for this service opportunity. Our chapter walked out of the building completely changed individuals. The students learned many different leadership skills based on teamwork and compassion, and their reactions were something that left a positive mark on all of those around them. Attitudes were changed and impacted by the work that we performed, and this is something that each of our student members will hold with them in managerial positions.
