Student & Faculty Chapter Idea Fair
Popcorn and Cotton Candy sales for a cause
Niagara University Chapter
Entry Details
Our student chapter of CMAA sets up stands at Niagara University home basketball games to all students and fans. The money raised from our stands goes back to our chapter and allows us to take club tours, as well as attend conferences such as Student Conference and World Conference. This idea enhanced our chapter's operation, because not only do we raise money for ourselves to create amazing opportunities for our chapter, but we also create a platform for CMAA on the Niagara University campus. We have gotten several shout outs and interests from other students who did not know what CMAA was before, but are now in our chapter, and are so interested in what Club Management is all about!
Implementation
This idea was implemented because our chapter was trying to find ways to fund-raise and gain a little extra money for our cause. We tried thinking of activities on campus that students, faculty, and even the Buffalo-Niagara community love to attend, so we decided that we would take advantage of the popularity of Niagara University home basketball games! Originally, this was a cause to just raise some money for our chapter, but it turned into something more. Students all over campus have pursued interest in our chapter, putting a good light on CMAA at Niagara University. Chapter members' have reacted very well to this fundraiser, as we each take a couple shifts and use our professional skills to give a positive experience to our customers. Creating this fundraiser for our chapter has shown that it is possible to raise money while being efficient, and even throwing a little fun into the mix!
