State of the Chapter Annual Wine Dinner

This idea has enhanced our chapter's operation and overall the success of our chapter by giving us the financial support that we need to be able to bring a group of students to both student conference and world conference year after year. It also creates a great bond and builds on friendships within our student chapter as we all come together to collaborate, bounce ideas off each other, and iron out the details on how we want things to run during our event.

Implementation

The idea started as a small dinner in our campus bistro and quickly grew into something much larger. The growth of our student chapter over the past 4 years has positively impacted the growth of our State of the Chapter Annual Wine Dinner. This past November was our largest and most successful wine dinner to date with over 80 attendees! Along with the local managers, we also invite the food & beverage purveyors who donated food or wine, as well as any board members from local clubs that would like to attend. Our chapter members always have the nervous butterflies the day of (especially those who have never worked in a club setting), but once the event gets underway it's always smooth sailing and a night that leaves managers talking for weeks! The event takes several weeks of planning, but it is something we all thoroughly enjoy doing and always look forward to once we are all back on campus in September.
