Wildcat Parking

Entry Details

The Wildcat Parking initiative has enhanced our chapter’s operation by providing a creative and sustainable way to create additional funding. By using the university’s parking lot during home games, we were able to turn an overlooked resource into additional funding for the club. This idea also fostered teamwork among  members, improved organizational skills, and strengthened our chapter's reputation within the university and local community.

Implementation

This idea was implemented by first seeking approval from the university’s administration. Once approved, we conducted a walkthrough of the parking lot and began recruiting members to assist with parking management and signage. Chapter members have been enthusiastic about the Wildcat Parking initiative. They have appreciated the opportunity to engage with the community, strengthen bonds among members, and witness how their efforts contribute to the chapter's success. JWU CMAA students were involved in this fundraising initiative for many years; however, following the pandemic, the university decided to discontinue the tradition. We would like to engage with the university administration to explore the possibility of reinstating this initiative.
