CCLProJustinBush_PatriotGolfDay_250WILMINGTON, North Carolina – Country of Club of Landfall (CCL) golf professionals will honor Patriot Golf Day by playing as many holes of golf as possible, with the goal of playing 63 holes plus in one day, to raise support for the Folds of Honor Foundation.   Patriot Golf Day supports the Folds of Honor Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides secondary educational scholarships for the children and spouses of men and women disabled or killed while serving in the military.

CCL golf professionals are taking a different approach with their Patriot Golf Day fundraising efforts than other clubs around the country.  “A lot of clubs who participate will add a one dollar green fee to their fees for the day or suggest a flat donation rate,” said CCL’s PGA Head Golf Professional Sara Bush, “as a team, we thought it would be a fun twist for the six of us to go out and play a marathon day of golf while taking pledges to bring support and attention to the Folds of Honor Foundation and the work they do to support our troops and their families.”

All six CCL PGA Professionals have been soliciting pledges from club members who are sponsoring the pros per hole played.  “We are excited about the pledges we have collected so far,” continued Bush, “the CCL members have been very supportive of Patriot Golf Day.  I think they, as much as we, are curious to see how many holes we can actually play from sun up to sun down.” Every dollar pledged by CCL members will go directly in support of Patriot Golf Day. CCL professionals will tee off at 7am on September 5 on the Nicklaus Course and rotate between playing the Pines, Marsh and Ocean Courses.

Through Patriot Golf Day events around the country 1600 scholarships have been awarded and golfers nationwide have raised more than $5.3 million since 2007 for the Folds of Honor Foundation.  Patriot Golf Day is a national campaign supported by the PGA of America and the United States Golf Association.
